2000 Contour 34sc, This boat has only been used 4 seasons on the great lakes and never raced. It is one of the largest trailer able, and collapsible cruising trimarans produced. The 24 foot beam can be collapsed to 12 feet in about 10 minutes. The cabin has an alcohol 2 burner stove, sink and, ice box that can be easily converted to a solar powered refrigerator. It sleeps 4 easily, with plenty of headroom for 6 footers and has the privacy of an enclosed head with sink. It has 34 gallon waste and freshwater tanks. The boat was displayed at the Annaplois 2000 boat show and declared best in class This boat was purchased with all the upgrading options offered by contour at that time. It has a full sail set with Profurl roller furling jib, Profurl roller furling screecher, the boom has lazy jacks and snatch type sail cover to store the stayed main . 2 self tailing #52 Anderson cabin-top winches, 2 self tailing #52 Anderson main winches, two 5 sheave deck organizers, allow you to handle all lines aft. The custom Phil's rudder handles well at all speeds. With the present sails it sustained 18 knots comfortably. The fun part is cruising being shallow draft with a dagger board you can pull up the rudder, use the electric tilt to take it in stern first and step to the beach. With a stern mounted swimming ladder this boat is excellent for swimming. A 20 hp 4 cycle Yamaha was added in 2007 to give the needed power to punch into stiff headwinds and also cruise for hours at 7.5 knots on a single 10 gallon tank. With a true generator it easily keeps the duel batteries well charged. The motor has an attacment that turns it with the rudder giving it the munuverability of a rather wide outboard motor boat. It has a Float On, 3 axle aluminum trailer. The 4800 lbs. boat has been floated onto the trailer. Then pulled out of water and towed several times by a 3/4 ton diesel pick-up truck. The 52 foot rotating aluminum mast steps easily we often used a light hand powered crane. Historical note: the hull is number 32 of 34 produced. The Canadian boat plug company found its high quality production standards too expensive discontinuing production in 2001.
